Future Construction
Future Monastery Campus Development: The Monastery of Abuna Hara Dengeel plans to develop its 10-acre property into a permanent spiritual and community campus. The long-term vision includes a permanent Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church and monastery, monks' residence, senior care facilities, guest accommodations, meeting and educational spaces, youth theological and AI/technology learning programs, farming and beekeeping for sustainability, and a burial area. Development will proceed in phases as funding becomes available.
To Be Built
- A worship-centered monastery campus rooted in prayer, liturgy, and hospitality.
- A ceremonial nave and community gathering spaces that support spiritual life.
- Guest lodging, teaching areas, and hospitality spaces for pilgrims and families.
- Supporting site infrastructure so the land can serve the monastery responsibly for generations.
